Week 4 of repairs is coming to a close... did I say week 4?? On a tiny little RV? Yes, I did. And in these 4 weeks of highs and lows of RV repair, one thing has stood out: God IS in control!
It doesn't matter how we try to rush. It doesn't matter how many breaks we do or don't take. It doesn't matter, not one iota, how we tackle this... if we go through God it will be done His way, His speed, His time.
Man's job? Learning how to accept that.
Submit is not a favorable word in the human vocabulary. At least not in most societies (there may be those exceptions.) Submit means letting go of the simple fact that we are not in control... someone else is.
Why is that so hard for Christians? Is it because we can't "see" with our eyes that which is truly taking care of all the details? Is it simply a flesh battle... us wanting to still be in control even though the simple fact remains:
We are not!
The human mind plans the way, but the Lord directs the steps.
- Proverbs 16:9 (NRSV)
When God sets the time, let us wholly submit. I admit this is a challenge for me. But each day I let go and let God... I feel a small victory in peace and understanding... a measure of endurance rewarded to see this thing through till the end... whenever that end might be!
May the Lord bless and keep you, may He direct your steps to peace in that crazy word, "submit".
Blessings,
