Each year our family counts-down till Christmas with a red and green paper chain.  It isn't your average chain... it is a chain with special tid-bits to do for each day until that Holy Night.  But this year we feel led to try something different for advent...

Our youngest daughter suggested we set our chain up with a part of the Bible story for each day telling about the coming of the Christ.  It sounded like an easy enough task but splitting the beautiful story of our Savior's birth over 25 days lifted my heart to pray that it might be more than just a story.

This advent our family is taking a journey.  We are hoping to experience the story history of Jesus, the prophesy that foretold His coming, the joy of his expectant mother, and all the events which mark this season with its joy.

We pray you will join us each day as we countdown to Christmas with this simple advant study.  Each day will contain scripture, perspective and even some application.  Today, we prepare our hearts:

Day 1: 24 days until Christmas

Pray.  We want to prepare our hearts for this season of love and joy... to put first our thoughts on that greatest gift which this season is all about and to be ready with hearts sharing that Gift in all we do.
